About this bottle

Sweetens Cove 13 Year Tennessee Bourbon is a straight bourbon bottled at cask strength. The brand engaged master distiller Marianne Eaves to select 100 barrels of 13-year-old Tennessee bourbon, which she then blended and batched to create 14,000 bottles. The alcohol by volume and flavor profile differ across batches due to being bottled at cask strength. Sweetens Cove is a golf course with nine holes that opened in 2014 near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Athletes Peyton Manning and Andy Roddick are among the individuals who own both the course and the whiskey brand.

Trista Small 4.0

Nose: dark dried fruits, brown sugar, and a touch of ethanol. Smells both enticing and a bit alcoholic. Pink bubblegum emerges later. Palate: citrus, celery, vanilla, caramel, menthol, fresh red fruit. Finish: menthol, citrus peel, cherries, white pepper, cough syrup. A delicious and intricate bourbon with pleasant sweetness. However, it is expensive.

Samantha Newton 3.5

I acknowledge its complexity, but I find the heavy oak aging leads to a bitter, tobacco-forward profile. While sweeter notes are present, the age dominates. I'm unsure if the sample I received does it justice, but it's a definite pass for me.

Lee Courtney 4.0

Toasted marshmallow and subtle hints of cotton candy on the nose. Leather, vanilla, well, I'm not sure what I'm doing here. This is quite decent but likely very overpriced. I was pleased to receive it as a thoughtful gift but will not spend $200 for another bottle when this one is gone.

Stefanie Mota 4.0

Nice! A great bottle, and not just some overhyped product from a celebrity. I'm satisfied with the $180 I paid. I don't know if I'd purchase it routinely, but it was a cool experience to try and add to my collection at home!

Gale Barth 4.3

Nose: Sweet and well-balanced, very pleasing. Palate: A mouthful of nuts, reminiscent of a particular rye, perhaps with more nuttiness. Requires a direct comparison. Finish: An enjoyable nutty taste that fades into a lasting, pleasant finish.

Blaine Nguyen 3.8

Batch 3 Aroma: pronounced butterscotch and toffee, marshmallow, black pepper Taste: Good spice on the initial taste, considering how sweet the aroma is; the finish is sweet.
