My wife keeps enjoying the Irish selection, so I keep buying new bottles from the local store. This brand had a few age statements, and the 10 year seemed the most intriguing at a moderate price. Let's find out. Smells gently sweet. The sherry influence is evident with clear fruit notes. Initial taste is somewhat surprising. Immediately, I detect a flavor resembling cherry cola. Hints of vanilla and a mild cinnamon spice are on the periphery. The finish is smooth, like a lingering cherry cinnamon dessert. To begin, this is unique. Perhaps my Irish whiskey knowledge is limited, but it presents very fruity and cola-like, which I haven't encountered in this type of spirit. However, I'm genuinely liking this drink. The finish is almost the main event, resembling a mixed beverage. Some might find it divisive, but I appreciate variety, so I'd certainly suggest buying a bottle. For the cost, it gets a slight boost in my overall evaluation as a good value.
