Strange Monkey Gin

Very citrus-forward, yet still retains plenty of familiar gin character. Subtle, very light sweetness in the mid-palate (perhaps from the corn in the mash bill, or maybe just a result of the wheat and botanicals – my palate isn't refined enough to discern, but either way, I enjoy it). Good enough to be enjoyed on its own in a dry martini (with a lemon peel; it would clash with an olive), and affordable enough to be mixed into other nice cocktails. I also genuinely appreciate the entire bottle design and how it complements the branding of the distillery's other offerings. Definitely a fan.

It has a pleasant juniper aroma. The flavor is sweet but not too much, a great gin for a Virginia gin. I mixed it with tonic and no additions. It would likely pair well with muddled cherries and blueberries. Eager to try different additions. The bottle is visually appealing; the picture doesn't do it justice. I would purchase it again; it's an excellent gin overall.
