About this bottle

Stranahan's Snowflake Sunshine Peak is the 23rd batch in the annual Snowflake single malt series. The spirit is initially matured in traditional #3 char bourbon casks before being finished in various ex-spirit and wine casks. Originally planned for a 2020 release, it was postponed due to the pandemic. Sunshine Peak is named after a Colorado mountain exceeding 14,000 feet. Finishing casks include apple brandy barrels (Calvados and applejack), as well as Moscatel and Cabernet wine casks. It is bottled at 47% ABV and was exclusively available on December 4, 2021, at Red Rocks Amphitheater on a first come, first served basis.

Layla Hammond 4.0

It definitely has a single malt character. There's a strong brandy note, not much distinct flavor, but it's sweet with a little caramel and a dry finish.
