It smells and tastes like a newly opened bottle of Lagavulin 11, which isn't bad, but I wish more of the original spirit's character was apparent. The cask strength version is entirely different and much more distinctive.

Ripe berries, peaches, and vanilla cream on the nose, massively juicy and sweet with a hint of earth. Sweet caramel upfront on the palate with a strong oak-tannin spice and a dry finish with a waft of smoke. Wonderful.
