About this bottle
This represents the inaugural official Islay single malt Scotch to undergo a finishing period in Japanese Mizunara oak casks. With a limited production of only 2,000 bottles, this east-meets-west creation is a result of the scarcity of Mizunara oak casks, which are primarily reserved for Japanese malts. The whisky selected for this bottling was aged between 12 and 18 years in various casks before a few months' finish in new Mizunara barrels. It is bottled at cask strength.

Cherrywood on the nose. Full body with sherry and cinnamon. Warmth and spice on the tongue. Numbs the roof of your mouth. Flavorful cherry finish. But at $1,200 cost basis and $2,500 FMV would I buy this again? No. Hibiki 12, 17, 21, Yoichi, Moscatel wood finish, Yamazaki 25 are all much better.
Yeah, I'm me.
Superb, a perfect score.
