About this bottle

This is the third limited edition in the Extinct Blends Quartet series from Compass Box, celebrating defunct blended Scotch whiskies from recent decades. The name honors author Sir Walter Scott and the Scotch culture of Edinburgh and Glasgow. The blend predominantly features malts from Aberlour and Miltonduff, with some aged further in sherry butts. Peated malt from Bowmore Distillery on Islay provides an additional component. It is bottled at 49% ABV, with only 5,190 bottles released globally, and the US received its allotment starting September 20, 2023 (SRP $325).

Katina Montgomery 4.0

An elegant, Blended Scotch Whisky by a certain maker in homage to Bailie Nicol Jarvie Whisky. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, wood, fruit, flowers & spices; while a rich & complex life adds notes of apricot, pineapple, fig, raisin, honey, creamy vanilla & roses; that led to a long & balanced death adding notes of oak smoke & fudge. October 2023
