There's a touch of stale bread and oak alongside abundant salty and light smoke elements. This entire CV range has been a fascinating exploration of Springbank's blended ages. Young and fiery, yet complex, with explosive finishes, even if a bit brief. 2.0 And again, 75 euros for the 3-pack of 200 ml bottles. Okay, the fun part: which CV is the best? The nose on all of them starts quite similarly. I've noticed that whichever has been in the glass the longest smells the best as they become sweeter and the off-notes from younger whiskies diminish. Taste - The Longrow best showcases a blend of cask finishes and might come across as having the youngest whisky in it. The Hazelburn has an almost glue-like quality upfront, but the finish does it considerable justice. Hazelburn has a peculiar malt profile that I tend to appreciate more than some others. The Springbank is simply good Springbank, embodying what we've all come to love about the brand. It's not extraordinary by their standards, but it is Springbank. Not really a surprise, but the order is Springbank - Hazelburn - Longrow.
