Victor Barba 3.8

Appearance: Golden hue with thin, slow-moving, unevenly spaced legs. Nose: Immediate notes of oak, vanilla, and honey, followed by a hint of flat ginger ale and light fruitiness. Palate: Young and somewhat sharp. Abundant pleasant sweetness at the outset. Medium body with a reasonably long finish. Pronounced oak presence, perhaps excessively so, possibly due to virgin American oak. Hints of caramel, biscuit, and vanilla are present. Nose after dilution: Increased cereal and oak notes emerge. Fresh fruitiness becomes apparent after swirling. Palate after dilution: Noticeably sweeter and more tart fruitiness, reminiscent of biting into a fresh, sweet red apple. Compared to other single malts, this dram lacks depth. However, for a YOUNG whisky, it offers more complexity than anticipated. A solid dram for a Canadian Single Malt; I intend to keep it stocked.
