About this bottle

From the Ian Macleod Distillers portfolio, Smokehead is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky brand. This particular expression comes from an unnamed Islay distillery and was first matured in former bourbon casks. It then undergoes a finishing period in tequila casks before being bottled at 43% ABV. The 700ml bottles of this expression debuted in the United States in April 2023 with a suggested retail price of $79.99.

A delightful smoky aroma, balanced with a sweet, slightly grassy flavor. The palate is even more intriguing, featuring a rich maltiness with a whisper of agave. It's quite pleasant and agreeable; the tequila barrel aging imparts a sweet, almost fruity quality. A moderately long finish concludes with a subtle wood smoke note. This is an exceptional drink that's performing at its peak. Get some while you can.
