Silver Springs Sweet Rye

A sweet caramel note at first, which then develops into cinnamon spice, light mint, some herbaceousness, orange peels, and mild fruity notes. Towards the finish, oak and spice become more prominent, and the finish is long and hot due to the high proof. It's not exceptional, but it works well in an Old Fashioned, offers great value for a cask strength spirit, and slightly resembles old forester rye, though it lacks that rye's more floral and eucalyptus notes.

Sweet and smoky. A remarkable value. While I'm not typically drawn to smoke, I can understand its appeal.

A solid, higher-proof rye, especially considering the cost. Rumor has it this is a new riff on their rye.
