Hollis Snyder 4.5

The aroma immediately delivers a vibrant mix of sweet, creamy oak, with clear notes of Sherry wine. It's a superb blend of smoke and wine sweetness, evoking the taste of a decadent frosted cake. As it opens up, chocolate notes emerge, enhancing the already wonderful experience. The palate coats the mouth with oak and smoke, while the Sherry influence mellows any harshness without being overly sweet. A dry wine character underlies it all, followed by a blend of baking spices and black pepper that adds a touch of heat. This intriguing combination of contrasting flavor profiles merges effectively, offering the best of both worlds. It's neither too smoky nor too sweet, striking a perfect balance in this beautiful Scotch. Considering its surprisingly high barrel proof for a Scotch, the depth of flavor is quite remarkable. The finish is long, slightly spicy, and possesses a pleasant chewiness as all the flavors integrate into something luscious. Each chew reveals hints of smoke, wine, or oak. It's absolutely exquisite and something I will greatly miss.
