Nose: Coffee crisp chocolate bar, treacle, a generous portion of maple syrup, bubblegum-like fruitiness (strawberry, banana, raspberries), dried fruits (apricots, dates), toasty oak, a subtle smoky-sweet barrel char, fresh vanilla, marshmallows, a hint of sweet tea, lemon drops, lemony iced tea, some mellow old oak, a hint of peanut butter/hazelnut chocolate spread, settled/cooled caramel, honey, a touch of nutmeg and black pepper, a faint note of ex-bourbon cask rye, some dusty corn, mocha, cornbread dough mixture, maple-cream cookies, a slight aged English-style rum/sugarcane note, floral grain note, a hint of white pepper, oak spice, peaches and cream, Terry's Chocolate Orange, tannic bittersweet old wet wood, a hint of brown sugar. Palate: Maple syrup and pancake syrup coating a slightly spicy gingerbread crisp, honey biscuits, rich and sweet caramel, sticky toffee, sugar cookies, brown sugar, some dried sweet fruits (dates, prunes and figs), candied apricots, cinnamon and cardamom, sweet mocha coffee, some rye spice (from ex-bourbon casks) and black pepper, honey-dipped cigar, some sweet butterscotch, freshly poured caramel. Finish: Cola-like sweetness, caramel, slightly drying tannic old oak, fig newtons, spicy-sweet molasses, dates covered in maple syrup, very sweet tea, some well-steeped black tea with orange notes, candied blood orange, sweet mocha, sweet-smoky Lakatia tobacco.

Nose: The immediate scents are maple syrup, vanilla, honey, and honeydew melon, accompanied by some black pepper and a slight hint of mint. The aroma builds anticipation for a sweet drink, but the spices deliver a strong, pleasant burn at the back of the throat. The palate strongly features maple syrup and vanilla, with notes of honey and burnt sugar also present. The flavors persist for a very long time, while the burn fades quickly, making this a well-balanced whiskey that's worth buying. Well done Signal Hill. Manufactured Sweet Syrup. This whiskey won't impress connoisseurs; it's for those who enjoy relaxing in the shed on a winter evening. I fell for the hype, and I was mistaken. It's inexpensive in both price and quality. Alberta Premium Cask Strength is quality; this lacks it.
