I don't know a thing about sake, this is actually my first time trying it. But when in a new situation, I try to follow local customs. In this instance, I'm at Disney's EPCOT, eating at Teppen Edo in the Japan section. So, when in Japan, I'll do as the Japanese do. The waitress suggested I try a glass of this with my spicy tuna sushi. It's a Nigori type, which means it's cloudy and unfiltered, much like a non-chill filtered spirit. The flavors were incredible. It had a smooth, rich texture with notes of coconut milk, melon, sweetened tea, and cream. And it was dangerously easy to drink. I don't feel the need to explore other types of alcohol; I'm perfectly happy sticking with red wine and whiskey. So, I won't be purchasing any sake soon. However, it's good to know there are other affordable, quality alternatives to whiskey.

A drawback of scotch is that it's generally not worth trying until you spend around $40. While I wouldn't say this sake is comparable to a fine scotch, its depth of flavor and sweetness make it truly stand out. The rich, earthy notes are pleasant, and the floral sweetness is prominent before yielding to a lengthy finish without any off-notes (a rarity in sake). Even at three times the price, I would still recommend this sake.
This sake truly astonished me. It tastes amazing, not just good for its price. It would be worth buying at several times the cost, making it one of the better value alcoholic beverages. The flavor is rich, complex, and has an appealing sweetness. Notes of fruit and vegetables mingle with floral and mineral hints initially, eventually leading to a sweet mineral finish with a touch of clean salt.
The flavor is sweet with vegetal, medicinal, and earthy notes. There's a hint of floral fruit. It's somewhat chocolatey and very creamy. There's some depth and complexity, but the balance is slightly off, and the flavors could benefit from more refinement.
A harmonious mix of sweet and rich notes defines the taste. It possesses a full body, complemented by a subtle bitterness that perfectly balances the sweetness. This is an excellent spirit for the cost.
