It smells like the sea mixed with a medicine cabinet. The taste reveals caramel, butter, pepper, and spice. Adding a few drops of water enhances its sweeter aspects. A solid small batch whiskey; I'm eager to try more.

About this bottle
Shelter Point Smoke Point Whisky is a limited release from the British Columbia distillery. It is produced from malted and unmalted barley, initially aged for 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels. Subsequently, it is transferred to barrels that formerly held peated whisky from Islay. A total of only 1044 bottles were produced.

Hints of caramel, vanilla, and sea salt alongside some smoke. Iodine and a campfire on the nose. Abundant flavor with a lasting finish.
Received a sample. The peat isn't Islay-like, but gentler. Herbal notes with hints of tobacco on the nose. A decent drink.
Unimpressive, I had anticipated a stronger peat character.
