Judson Slone 3.0

The aroma offers subtle smoke, burnt caramel, hay, and a musty malt/earthy quality. On the palate, the influence of Islay casks is immediately apparent. While not an overwhelming Islay experience, it's present. I detected sweet, smoky peat and wood tannins, leading to a dry, slightly sour finish. At 50% ABV, it's surprisingly smooth, though adding a bit of water seemed to enhance the sweetness. Don't expect the intense character of Lagavulin or Ardbeg; this isn't trying to be that bold.
