Seven Devils Rye Whiskey

This distillery obtains its 4-year-old rye from "North America" before blending, filtering, and diluting it with water from Idaho's mountains. It was not impressive when sampled in 2017, with harsh alcohol and green oak notes. Perhaps it has improved since then.

It's smooth from beginning to end, with a bit of spice in the middle and a hint of clove flavor. Overall, it's a fantastic whiskey from a smaller distillery.

Notes of apples, vanilla, earthiness, mild alcohol, and rye. A unique rye whiskey, and it's good.
