Seven Brothers Hickory Smoked

I would give it a 0 if possible. While I usually drink good whisk(e)y neat, I can handle most things. I bought this on impulse, thinking, "I'm a big fan of peat, a different kind of smoky whiskey can't be too bad." I couldn't have been more mistaken. This tastes like liquid smoke, and not in the enjoyable Islay whisky way. To the point where I genuinely question if I can handle another sip. I don't want to speak ill of the distillery, because palates differ, and I don't know what they were aiming for, but I would seriously consider abstaining from alcohol before putting myself through another taste...

Wow. The label indicated Hickory Smoked, and it was. The smoky flavor dominates everything else. It's intense and immediate. I won't be trying this one again. However, I will sample another of their products; I understand that tastes differ. As I always say, "It's not wrong, it's just different".
