Leopold Bros. Michigan Cherry Whiskey

Initially, it seemed quite promising: fresh fruit juice aged with American whiskey for a few months, offering an appealing aroma and taste. However, it ultimately proved disappointing, likely due to overly high hopes. It presents as concentrated cherry juice (more tart than sweet), along with some rye and typical American whiskey characteristics, and perhaps as a result of the combination, a potent aroma of leather and asphalt on the nose. However, the taste isn't as engaging or fulfilling – what appeared to be a successful mix comes across as bland and mismatched; the leather note clashes with the intensely sweet juice and whiskey, potentially creating an unpleasant sensation for the drinker. Only the finish and aftertaste are truly satisfying and enjoyable.

It has an odd smell and tastes like cough syrup. I believe it would work well in cocktails, but I wouldn't drink it straight. Try combining it with a very peaty Islay for an interesting flavor profile.

Contains no added sugars or artificial ingredients. Keep it away from sunlight and heat. It's fantastic mixed with club soda or in cocktails, or simply served on the rocks if you enjoy cherry.

It's sweet. It tastes of cherry. There's a slight spice. As someone who loves cherry-flavored whiskey, this was incredibly satisfying. Even though it's sweeter than my usual preference.

Tastes of sour cherry with the comforting warmth of good whiskey. It's unusual but quite good!
