Scarabus 10 Year

A rich Single Malt Scotch from Hunter Laing's in Islay, Scotland. It was aged for 10 years in American oak and bottled at 40% ABV. It offers an aromatic beginning with notes of grains, wood, fruit, flowers, and spices. Its rich development adds flavors of toasted brioche with honey, green olives, lime, stewed rhubarb, and vanilla, leading to a smoky, medium-length finish reminiscent of the sea, with notes of peat smoke, oak, pepper, leather, and sea spray.

The aroma is peaty, with hints of candy, plastic, and sea salt. On the palate, it's intensely smoky with a lot of peat, resembling Band-Aids, cigar tobacco, salt, light fruit, and a touch of sourness. The finish is long-lasting, with sour, salty, and peaty notes. This is a robust, powerful Islay whisky, quite pleasing and very smooth.

Aroma: smells like a fishing harbor, saltwater, sardines, smoke with touches of leather. Palate: sweet vanilla, and a gradual wave of smoky peat and crushed peppercorns mixed with menthol. Finish: sweet peat and a bit of minty freshness.

Smell: mineral notes, peat smoke, heavy oak, green olive brine, charcoal. Taste: peat, smoke, brine, vanilla, herbs, earth. A lengthy, smoky, herbal finish.

Smell: Smoky/peaty, not overly sweet. Taste: Quite brief, peaty but not intensely so. Becomes sweeter toward the end.
