I can't figure out why this rum gets higher marks than Havana Club 3. It's inferior and offers fewer flavor characteristics. I'd only suggest it for mojitos.

About this bottle
Santa Teresa Claro is a new release designed for international markets, particularly for use in mixed drinks. It is a combination of light and heavy rums, matured for up to three years in barrels that previously held bourbon. Venezuelan regulations require rum to age for a minimum of two years. The spirit undergoes carbon filtration to reduce the color gained from aging in American oak, resulting in a pale golden hue.
