A very attractive bottle, but the contents don't quite live up to the initial appeal. The flavor is a bit rough, though it could serve as a decent sipper for the less discerning. However, using it in short drinks might be a better way to appreciate it. Dilution would help to elevate the flavor beyond its rougher edges and soften the alcohol's bite, while also offering a more complex profile than rums typically used for drinks and mixers.

Aroma of brown sugar and a faint hint of red apple. Smells quite pleasant. Not much flavor on the palate, but it mostly appears after swallowing and is very brief. I detect a little caramel and something that vaguely resembles a Jamaican funk/hogo, but not as good. It has a taste similar to lower-quality rums. I tried it mixed with Coke, and the resulting flavor still tasted cheap. Rating based on sipping it neat.
Spicy, peppery, and for 40% abv, an incredibly long aftertaste. I plan to experiment with it in cocktails and long drinks.
Sweet, nutty flavor. It's a decent rum, and I would drink it again. It also has a pleasant barrel influence. Nice!
