About this bottle
Part of the 2022 Royal Brackla core portfolio, the 18 Year Sherry Cask Finish (Palo Cortado) is one of three expressions. Malt Master Stephanie Macleod finished each expression in sherry casks from Bodegas Jose y Miguel Martin in Jerez, Spain, with Palo Cortado casks used for this 18 Year bottling. The new portfolio is bottled at 46% ABV and is neither chill-filtered nor contains added caramel coloring. US availability commenced in July 2022 across select markets, including NY, DC, and Chicago.

Smells of hay and citrus. The taste is a bit sharp, with black pepper and citrus. Very refreshing. Quite remarkable.
Nose: Faint citrus sweetness? Palate: Puckering grape? Finish: Mild, short-lived nuttiness. Maybe opening this after traveling and flying on a plane? The flavors hit in quick, light bursts. Sweet and smooth. It's a decent whiskey, though I'm a little disappointed.
The perfect balance of sweet, spice, and peat - fantastic!
