The aroma is sherry-like, with a butter cake scent. It enters quite sweet, with chewy dessert flavors of pie crust, pound cake, buttered whole wheat toast, and sweet roll. The body is medium-heavy and round. It finishes long with a touch of oak. It's a great after-dinner whiskey to pair with creme brulee or fruit pie.

About this bottle
Released in 2023, Balcomie is a key single malt expression for Kingsbarns. Similar to the primary Doocot bottling, it is composed entirely of malted barley cultivated six miles from the distillery. Aging is conducted solely in American oak casks that previously held oloroso sherry. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is not chill-filtered, with global availability commencing in March 2023 for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
