As someone new to rye, I'd describe this as a typical rye whiskey. And by that, I mean: I don't really like it, and I might as well be drinking pickle brine with food coloring. From start to finish, there's a distinct industrial flavor, similar to the Journeyman range. Perhaps it's cedar? Otherwise, the nose has a paint thinner quality, and the body has a hint of—no, forget it, it's just pickles. Imagine you're on your iPhone, open your messages, and search for an image. Type "hotdog face." Look at the picture of the girl getting hit in the face with hotdogs? Replace her expression with mine and the hotdogs with pickles. That's the finish.
