It was aged in former Bourbon barrels. It has an aromatic beginning with notes of tropical fruits, baking spices, vanilla & oak. For a 15-year-old XO rum, this is surprisingly dark in color (not in a good way) and the taste isn't as great as I'd hoped. The aroma is quite sharp, the taste starts with burnt caramel and a burning sensation, and then not much is left to taste at the end. I'm not saying it's a bad rum, but it's definitely not an excellent one. It's... adequate.
Has a fairly woody / high-proof flavor. It cleans up quickly, but has a decent flavor. Not very sweet.
The aroma is sweet and sugary, dominated by woody and sweet sugar characteristics.
I did not care for it. It has a strong spicy taste.
Sweet and light. Suitable for extended enjoyment.
