A rich, deep, and evocative aroma filled with high, piercing rye spice. On the palate, the dessert-like rum character is more vibrant with a warm ginger note. The rye flavor is prominent, presenting a complex and thoughtful blend of toasted notes, bittersweet cocoa, full-bodied coffee bean, and roasted hazelnut. It has a smooth, enveloping mouthfeel, leaving a lingering finish that fades to a subtle woody taste. Another excellent addition to a growing collection.

About this bottle
This rum begins with Papa's Pilar's Dark Rum, a blend of aged rums from Barbados, Panama, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Florida. It is then finished in heavily charred, once-used rye whiskey barrels and bottled at 86 proof. This release is the fourth permanent offering in the brand's portfolio, joining its Dark Rum, Blonde Rum, and Sherry-finished Rum. It has been available across the US since May 2023. (SRP $49.99)

Sweet, sugary, syrupy, brown sugar, vanilla, chocolate, maple syrup, baking spices, with a slight bitterness and a pleasant warmth.
An amazing pour. A rum for bourbon drinkers. Love this neat. I wouldn't want to spoil it by mixing it with anything.
A very sweet and smooth rum. When mixed with cola, it almost tastes like caramel. Highly enjoyable.
A smooth rum that concludes with a spicy sensation.
