Tristen Epstein 4.0

In my opinion, this is a commendable rum. Granted, it's a solera creation with a prominent '30' marking. However, its attributes are quite pleasing: 40% ABV, smooth, and sweet, though it lacks some depth. I detect subtle mint essences alongside the sweetness, with mild tobacco notes appearing at the finish. Some candy-like flavors, such as licorice and pineapple, conclude the experience. The finish is fleeting, which is understandable at 40% ABV. I favor options like El Dorado 21 or Appleton Estate 21, finding them more intricate and profound than this offering. Overall, it's very good.

Kasey Blake 4.5

A rum from Centenario Internacional S. A. in Costa Rica, aged for at least 30 years. Its aromatic beginning features notes of ripe fruit, spices, caramel, pecan pralines, and roasted nuts. A life influenced by oak adds notes of orange zest, pineapple, vanilla, and caramel, leading to a complex and smooth finish with hints of rose, vanilla, and brown sugar. November 2019

Attractive bottle holding a dark amber liquid. Opening it releases strong caramel scents, and the initial taste lives up to the smell. The flavors are quite sweet, with caramel and vanilla undertones. It goes down easily with hardly any alcoholic bite. I would have rated this higher, but the initial sweetness was a bit too intense for my preference.

Juana Herrington 5.0

Smells of black plum and toasted coconut. Moderately sweet. Tastes of brown sugar, vanilla, maple, and lots of coconut.

Judi Dang 4.5

Citrus notes, a touch of tobacco, and very mellow. Sweet flavors and very pleasing. Good value for the money.

Royal Mcfadden 5.0

Aged 35 years from a barrel. From a resort in Costa Rica. Incredibly mellow, sugary, with notes of maple and vanilla, plus oak.
