This rum, crafted from sugarcane grown in Costa Rica, is aged in previously used bourbon barrels. A solera system is employed for blending, incorporating rums as old as 20 years. The beverage exhibits a rich mahogany color with undertones of copper.

Vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and clove on the nose. Flavor is sweet, with more vanilla and caramel, plus some excellent brown sugar notes and a touch of spice. Finishes smooth, with just a slight lingering alcohol burn and more spice. Overall, it's very easy to drink neat, and is one of my favorite rums so far.
Tasted this alongside the 7 and 12 year old versions. This was certainly the sweetest. Heavy caramel on the nose. Palate was heavy caramel/butterscotch with very little burn.
Nose: Sweet and woody. Caramel, molasses, and red fruits. Palate: Rich, sweet, and woody. Faint caramel, with cherry, vanilla, and apricot. Finish: Medium, with anise notes.
Served on the rocks, it retains its full complexity and flavor while diminishing the warmth experienced when drinking it straight.
Aroma of clove, cherry, and almonds. Moderate sweetness. Flavor of almonds, fig, and caramel. As good as the 30-year-old.
It's heavily sweetened and very sugary, but the delightful fruity flavors aren't overwhelmed by the sugar content.
