About this bottle

Ed Hamilton, the driving force behind the Hamilton rum brand, aimed to create a collection allowing consumers to research every detail of rum production. This rum from Saint Lucia is made from fermented molasses and was distilled using a Vendome Pot Still at the Saint Lucia Distillery. It matured for seven years in previously used bourbon barrels before being sent to the U.S. for blending and bottling.

Elwood Sweeney 4.5

Tasted from a sample shared by a friend. A remarkable combination of molasses and funk, with a strong presence of both. The aroma offers notes of banana, rich berries and cream, cinnamon, and island spices. The taste has a spicy kick on the tongue but is delicious, with dark sugar, prunes, a deep, strong bitter vanilla, and a good amount of char. As it develops, the finish becomes more dessert-like, losing some spice and heat, as well as the initial intense molasses and funk.

Jana Helton 4.0

A powerful blast of fruitiness with an intense spice, finishing with an almost peaty, smoky, oaky character. It begins with a bold intensity that concludes nicely with a peaty quality.

Presley Boles 5.0

Incredibly tasty but sadly unavailable. Pot stills have been banned in St. Lucia, meaning this rum is gone for good.

Marian Tamayo 4.0

More eccentric than a funk band. Not for everyone, but something you won't forget.

Theron Sauceda 4.0

Slight funk with a solid rum foundation. Fairly smooth.

Wade Owen 3.5

Robust and unique
