Botran No. 18 Ron de Guatemala

This is a very sweet rum, in both the literal and figurative sense. Both the nose and palate are incredibly rich and full, positively brimming with toffee, ripe banana, burnt sugar, and a fruitiness that is both dark and tropical. The finish is long and rich, with roasted wood notes rounding it out. I could see this being a perfect end to a fine Central American meal... or just about any other time you're in the mood for something in the "dessert dram" category. While I wouldn't necessarily feel the need to mix this with anything, I'm also willing to bet it would pair exceptionally well with black coffee in a cocktail.

Somewhat sweet, quite smooth, easy to drink, just burns a bit. Great bourbon profile, some toffee and vanilla. It definitely has a wood profile and feels aged. I think it's a balanced and classic rum, similar to Mount Gay. I let it rest to get some oxygen and then started sipping it straight from the glass, amazing, better than Zacapa, not as sweet, more balanced and complex in my opinion.

This rum has a really good balance, it's smooth!... On the first sip, it's light, with a good alcohol presence, brown sugar, vanilla!... It has a medium finish with some bitter notes!... Recommended!!

Very dry, bark, roasted caramel, even a bitter mood, maple syrup, citrus peel, a dessert candy finish. Hard to believe there's no sugar.

Pale copper color Honey, brown sugar, cedar, with a bit of cinnamon spice and cherry. Just slightly more than 15 Reserva, but still falls short.
