Absolutely amazing. Among my collection of about 20 mid-to-top-tier rums, this might be the best I own and have tasted. Coming from a bourbon background, the subtle oak tannins in this bottle are very welcome. The aroma is rich with vanilla, spice, brown sugar, melted caramel candies, oak zest, and dried fruit, among other things. The palate is greeted with oak-forward tannins that evolve into sweet vanilla and caramel, finishing like burnt molasses. A superb rum that has a smoothed-out flavor profile while still offering multiple layers to explore.

This spirit possesses an exceptional aroma, arguably the finest encountered. Its fragrance is rich with spices, evoking warm scented candles such as cinnamon rolls and chocolate brownies. The palate delivers flavors of fried bananas and exquisite Christmas cookies. A subtle barrel character was present, not unpleasant, though its exact nature remained elusive. Furthermore, it exhibits remarkable smoothness and a distinctive mouthfeel. Exceptionally smooth, entirely free of any harshness. The finish, however, was quite brief.
The aroma is truly exceptional, I detect something like caramelized grilled bananas, which is surprising for a liquor. It tastes of toffee, with amazing smoothness and a slight burn to remind you it's a 40% ABV rum. Overall, a fantastic rum, especially considering its very low sugar content. Simply amazing! Sugar: 2 to 5 GPL
I really enjoy this rum, and while I'm always open to suggestions, their 23-year-old is even better. Both share an incredible cookie dough flavor profile on the palate. The 18 also includes a range of floral and fruit notes, along with abundant cooked vanilla and caramelized sugar. I like drinking it straight or using it in cocktails. It works well for both.
Nose: Gentle notes of caramel and vanilla, alongside a noticeable alcohol presence that isn't ideal. Taste: A brief taste reveals simple sweetness. Extended tasting brings alcohol warmth balanced by sweetness, with subtle hints of vanilla and brown sugar. I don't perceive any major distinctions from the 12-year-old expression. This spirit performs significantly better when used in cocktails. Score reflects sipping the spirit straight.
This rum is delicious. It's not as smooth as others, with a slight burn, but the flavor is incredible. The rich vanilla notes are amazing, complemented by bakery spices. The vanilla finish is very satisfying. It's definitely a sweeter rum, perfect for those who enjoy a sweet, dessert-style rum.
