Olive Trahan 2.3

This is not a quality whiskey. The label states it's under two years old, which gave me an indication of what to expect. The aroma is quite unpleasant, a mix of industrial solvent and a whisper of cognac that stings if you inhale too deeply. Tasting it is harsh. While it hints at what it could be (cognac, sweet rye, almost black licorice), the harshness dominates. It's a young whiskey, and with that cognac finish, it likely wouldn't mix well. The most pleasant part after several tries is the sweet, refreshing aftertaste once you've endured the drink. My main issue was the harshness, so I added a few drops of water, which helped somewhat. You can then detect the barrel more clearly. It's still not what I'd call good, but it's more tolerable. It's best to skip this one.

Norbert Flint 2.8

A subtle hint of young oak, but acceptable. Doesn't pair well with an ice ball. Shows good char. Provides a brief warmth and slight roughness. The cognac influence is noticeable but muted. Oak is the dominant factor, which is peculiar given its short aging period. Expected rye spice is present, along with a faint caramel sweetness.

Juliette Billings 4.3

Incredibly smooth, with the flavor developing towards the end. Throughout, there's a woody character, reminiscent of the aroma of a fresh, clean sauna.

Tonya Flores 4.0

Just acquired it. It's pleasant. I don't think I'd enjoy it chilled.
