Rod & Hammer's SLO Stills Cask Bourbon derives its name from its location in San Luis Obispo, California. The bourbon's mash bill consists of 55% corn, 35% rye, and 10% malted barley, and it is distilled in Indiana. This particular release has been aged for two years, is non-chill filtered, and is bottled at cask strength.

A dependable MGP spirit. I wished for something crafted locally. The online store where I made the purchase offered no details on its origin. Had I realized it wasn't their own creation, I would have skipped this purchase.
Nose: An intense butterscotch aroma, accompanied by smoke from its 'explosion'. Taste: Unsurprisingly, more butterscotch. It dissolves into caramel with a subtle hint of bitter grass at the end. See the full review at: https://youtu.be/gvndw0oabjg
I don't typically drink spirits this high in proof, but this is a solid cask strength bourbon with good flavor and drinkability compared to some other high-proof options I've sampled.
Grain aroma. Super strong honey flavor, the barley/wheat flavor, and then barrel burn. Love the intensity balanced with the honey; it's rich and fiery. Lovely.
Smells like caramel. Taste of vanilla and scorched caramel. A minty end. Glencairn
Enjoyable, but a bit too fiery for my preference.
