A potent char on the nose with a hint of burnt vanilla. The palate has a slight creosote character, reminiscent of a campfire. The rum itself effectively balances the deep woodiness and ethereal smokiness, creating a well-rounded and excellent spirit for tropical cocktails. It has significant body, and the finish is exceptionally long. It's also enjoyable served neat on a single rock as a contemplative after-dinner drink instead of Scotch whisky. This is a welcome addition to the Rhum J.M. line and a valuable one for your bar.

About this bottle
Rhum J.M presents Terroir Volcanique, a Rhum Vieux Agricole created from a combination of rums at least 3 years old. The spirits are matured in new American oak barrels produced at the distillery's own cooperage. The barrels are given two distinct heavy toasts, including a deep alligator char, intended to offer a peat-like flavor reflecting the volcanic terroir. Terroir Volcanique is scheduled for release in the U.S. around Earth Day 2023. (SRP $42.99)

Nearly flawless for its age. An excellent young agricole rhum with bright and full fruit-forward aromas. Lingering finish. For its class, it's fantastic! Aromatics, taste, and alcohol are exceptionally well-integrated.
Grassy notes, with a mild alcohol burn.
