About this bottle

Renegade Rum is a terroir-focused rum project originating from Grenada. The distillery harvests, mills, and distills fresh sugarcane from individual farms, processing one field at a time. MicrOrigin: Hope is a rum derived from a single field of sugarcane cultivated at Hope Farm, using the lodger cane variety. It was distilled using a pot still with a retort and aged in first-fill bourbon, virgin charred American oak, and French oak ex-Bordeaux wine casks. After aging for 1.5 years, it is bottled at 55% ABV. This is one of four flagship rums that began launching in the US in December 2023, with a suggested retail price of $79.99.

Jorge Mchugh 5.0

The aroma is dark and intense, reminiscent of raw sugarcane. It evokes the ruggedness of the land where it was grown. The taste, however, is the complete opposite: very sweet, light, and joyfully vibrant. It's exceptionally smooth for a 110 proof rum. The finish is medium-long, with notes of vanilla taffy and marshmallow. An excellent high-proof rum that would be outstanding in a Tiki drink, especially as a float.

Clark Mays 3.8

Nose of canned pineapple, waxy candy, and burnt fermented mangoes. It's like Jamaican funk meets Haitian clairin. Tastes of plastic, green bananas, and semi-sweet cane juice. Good heat in the finish. A well-crafted cane rum.
