Nose: Very herbal, not strongly juniper-forward. Notes of coriander and white pepper dominate, with prominent eucalyptus and pine resin. Palate: Hot, spicy, oily, and herbal on entry, with flavors developing to lemon and pepper. Finish: Long, with the intense palate fading into an herbal haze. For me, it's too strong and resinous neat, with too much eucalyptus, making it borderline unpalatable without ice or water. However, it loses its flavor quickly when diluted in a G&T; a very light tonic or a 50/50 mix with soda water is best. It's an interesting and distinctive gin, but the flavor profile isn't to my liking. It has a dusty, pine-like character, almost like pine pollen. I understand the intent, but I prefer gins that are either creamy and bold or bright and delicate; heavy and dusty doesn't work for me. Reed & Co. Distillery, founded in 2017 by former chefs Hamish Nugent and Rachel Reed in Bright, Victoria's alpine region, is quite new. Remedy Gin is their first release, with more recipes planned. Average rating: 78/100 (2.75 stars).

Rich with juniper, lemon eucalyptus, and mountain pepper, this is a potent gin that performs well in strong cocktails like a martini or a hanky panky. I definitely suggest this for a gin lover seeking something unique yet well-rounded.
