Garden Grown Gin

Nose: Very aromatic, incredibly crisp and clean. Rose, sage, and jasmine are the dominant scents, though there's also a hint of lavender, which is unusual since it's not listed as an ingredient (perhaps I'm detecting another floral aroma?). Subtle spice notes form the background. Palate: A sharp, invigorating entry featuring juniper, floral notes, mild citrus, and seed spices. The taste develops lively and fresh with a faint peppery note, but the texture is a contrast, feeling creamy and smooth. Finish: Medium in length. It's fragrant and slightly sweet, becoming drier towards the end. There's absolutely no bitterness in the aftertaste. The botanicals in this gin are exceptionally pure and well-defined. The aroma is subtle yet precisely sharp, and the taste is crisp and tangy. Nothing about it feels heavy; it's delightfully fresh when consumed neat. The only other thing I've tasted that's comparable is The Botanist. This is a great gin to drink straight over a small ice cube, or with plain soda water. Its delicate and subtle nature means that while it works well in a G&T, it can be overpowered by a strong tonic. I found Fever Tree Mediterranean to be a good match, but I would steer clear of any flavored tonics. I enjoyed this gin and grew to appreciate it more as I became more familiar with its profile. At first, it seemed a bit too subtle, but as you develop a taste for it, you realize its refinement and subtlety. "Very Good": 85/100 (4 stars)
