Nose: Richly aromatic and uplifting. Fragrant with juniper and warm floral and spicy notes - rose, lilac, coriander, lime zest. The longer it sits in the glass, the more the aroma develops. Palate: Clean and well-balanced with a fruity and floral character. The initial taste is crisp with sweet pepper notes and it has a luscious, creamy, and voluptuous texture. The honey is subtly present, adding depth and mouthfeel rather than flavor, and is balanced by a full spice rack of herbal notes - anise, thyme, coriander seed, fennel, caraway, licorice, and more. Finish: Medium/long. Sweet and slightly spicy with a hint of citrus, honey, and elderflower in the aftertaste. This gin is made similarly to Archie Rose's Signature Dry gin but has a distinct profile focused on strong warm botanicals rather than the bright citrus/juniper of the dry gin. It contains 15 ingredients, including pears, rose petals, elderflowers, and distilled honey from the distillery's own rooftop beehives! Everything about this gin is bolder and more encompassing than the Signature Dry. It's enjoyable sipped neat or on ice and makes a strong statement in any cocktail or mixed drink. It also pairs exceptionally well with tonic, which enhances and mellows the character to create a very flavorful G&T. It's a bit pricey, but it holds up well against other premium gins and is recommended. In my opinion, it's the best gin Archie Rose produces. "Very Good": 85/100 (4 stars)
