Before today, I had never encountered "The Ghosted Reserve." It's a 26-year-old blended malt from William Grant & Sons, the parent company of Glenfiddich and Balvenie. This whisky is bottled at 42% ABV and contains spirits from closed distilleries like Ladyburn and Inverleven. It appears to be a rare and quite costly item. On the nose, it's very fruity, as expected from Grant's. Citrusy grapefruit. Gooseberries and pear. Lemon zest and orchard fruits. On the palate, it's very straightforward and unexciting. Toffee, salted caramel, and pear juice. The finish is short and disappointing. Ginger, apple cider, hay. Overall, the only thing I can say is that some secrets should remain buried. It's a very simple and unimpressive dram. I'm not sure what I anticipated, as any research pointed towards Glenfiddich and Balvenie, which aren't my favorite whiskies. Does it seem like a superior Monkey Shoulder? It actually feels inferior to Monkey Shoulder. My rating for this disappointing malt is 75 out of 100.

I purchased two bottles when they were on sale. I will share my thoughts once I open one. I just wanted to mention that 4530 bottles were produced, not the 4100 stated here.
