Reese Sarmiento 3.5

Nose: strong malt aroma, pear, Fuji apple. Salted caramel. Vanilla, cranberry, caramel. Taste: freshly baked bread. Salt. Pear. Vanilla cream. Caramelized apples. Lemon, cardamom. Dried grass. Spicy gingerbread. Black pepper. Faint generic floral notes. The finish is long with very sweet powdered sugar notes. Adding Water: brings out more malt funk and sweetness in the aroma. The taste becomes sharper citrus, like grapefruit and lime. A second addition of water really enhances the black pepper and malt funk again. It presents more like a Jura-style malty flavor. It emphasizes the sweeter cream notes, then quickly fades to bitter lime and black pepper. This was the initial pour, so I'll likely review it again later.
