Have you ever sampled new-make spirit? After 11 years in a gently used refill cask, this independent bottling of Old Pulteney remains strongly driven by the spirit itself. Clean, light, and very citrusy, the aroma begins with cereals, sour grapes, and mint leaf, followed by subtle hints of yeast, white fish, and salt. The arrival is crisp, herbaceous, and effervescent, with unripe pears, honey, and distant tannins developing. It's not overly complex, but enjoyable. Over-brewed tea, lemongrass, and Ika Mata accompany the minty-fresh aftertaste. This single malt would function excellently as a toothpaste! RATING: 3.4/5.0 stars ≙ 82 pts → ABOVE AVERAGE [-]
