Got an unlabeled sample from someone I know. Served in a Glencairn, let sit for 15 minutes. Appearance: Pale gold. Smell: Raw sugar with a hint of honey and wood shavings. Taste: Sugary with some surprising spice notes of cinnamon and clove. Aftertaste: Lingers with a moderate warmth. Addition of water: No new tastes emerged, but the clove became more noticeable after adding a bit of water. Impression: 8/10 - Clearly a rum bottled at a high proof. The wood shaving scent suggests it's aged for a significant period. I'd like to experiment with this in a mixed drink.
