My first pisco, which I intentionally waited to try until I arrived in Peru. I anticipated something similar to grappa, but it's quite different so far. Smoky, orange, mineral, wood, white wine, and almonds on the nose. Minerals, smoke, grape, and light touches of wood and pepper on the palate. A light peppery finish. So far, so good. And inexpensive, at least in Lima.
