Nose: Strawberry jam on the nose. Very inviting. I don't detect any Ethanol. Palate: Strawberry jam appears on the front of the palate, then shifts to a traditional malt note. There's a slight amount of heat, but it drinks at or below its stated proof. Finish: A lingering, medium finish. Just a really pleasant dram. Summary: This is exactly what I expected from this whiskey. I've been a fan of this brand for years and usually enjoy red wine-finished spirits. When I saw this collaboration with Pinhook at cask strength, I had to buy a bottle. If you appreciate red wine-finished, cask-strength whiskey or spirits with fruitier profiles, you'll likely enjoy this one.
