About this bottle

Founded in 2014 by award-winning pitmaster Carey Bringle, Peg Leg Porker is an American whiskey brand. This limited release marks the brand's first rye whiskey. The Tennessee-distilled spirit, made with a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, was aged for eight years. Furthermore, the rye incorporates the brand's distinctive hickory charcoal finishing process after aging and before bottling. Production is limited to 1,200 six-pack cases, available in October in TN, GA, NY, OK, LA, KS, NC, and SC (SRP $117).

This expression is notably fiery and emphasizes rye. It's quite dry, featuring an intriguing, gentle smokiness reminiscent of a wood fire rather than charred wood. It's unusual, distinctive, and packed with taste, leaving a prolonged finish that invites further enjoyment. What truly stands out is the exceptional smoothness of this bottling. Despite its 105 proof, one anticipates a burn, yet there is none to be found. Exceptionally well-crafted and delicious. This spirit embodies the soul of southern BBQ like no other bourbon has achieved. Highly recommended!
