Paul John Christmas Edition 2022

NOSE Malt, toffee, marzipan, candied orange, dried fruit, hazelnuts, with some light pastry spice and copper notes, and a faint haze of smoke. Elegant and enticing, I really enjoy sniffing this one. PALATE Malt, candied orange, honey candy, marzipan, dried fruit, spice, sultanas, and a touch of oak, nuts, and copper with a whiff of smoke. There is a lot going on here, so many levels to sink into and explore. FINISH Medium -> Sultanas, spice, candied orange, and graham.

I had high expectations for my first Indian whiskey. The aroma of this whiskey is heavily yeasty, so much so that it tastes like yeast! It smells exactly like the grounds at the Buffalo Trace distillery! This doesn't help the taste of the heavy yeast and immature flavor of this bottle.

A fantastic surprise. A wonderful whiskey, tasted straight from the bottle upon first opening. It evokes Christmas in a glass, with the best elements of fruitcake, spices, and fruits. Delicious. I want more.

Rather sweet and predominantly wine-like.

Neat: Unpleasant.
