A well-balanced and perfectly aged añejo. It presents as elegant, refined, and sophisticated, with distinct and rich aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, and caramel on the nose. Harmonious notes of agave and bourbon barrel spice are found on the palate. I do detect the toasted oak and vanilla caramel, along with some spice, orange, and raisins. The finish is long and smooth. The natural subtle agave sweetness provides balance at the end, revealing a bit more of the bourbon barrel wood spice, toasted oak, and cooked agave. Overall, this tastes like a fine aged tequila – not overly sweet or cloying – and at $180, it's well worth the price. Acquired at Third Base Market and Spirits.

This is a good introduction to its older sibling, the 7 anos. It's a bit lighter and equally smooth. A fine addition to the collection.
