This tequila, released in 2014 under the Gran Patrón label by Patrón Spirits, involves steaming agave piñas and crushing them with a large volcanic stone wheel, known as a "tahona," to extract juices for distillation. Following distillation, it matures for four years in a barrel composed of both American oak and French Limousin oak. The use of the ancient tahona process gives this tequila its name, as "piedra" means "stone" in Spanish, and inspired the bottle's distinctive design.

This is my sole tequila bottle, and it's remarkably close to perfect. The aroma is smooth chocolate, and the palate is smooth with very light smoke and further smoothness. The finish is divine. This bottle is expensive, but if you're seeking a special spirit for a memorable occasion, this should be on your list.
The aroma is very vegetal with notes of green pepper/jalapeno. The taste is vegetal-agave with light sweetness and a long aftertaste similar to some Jamaican agricole rhum. Overall, it's a good bottle for tequila enthusiasts but certainly not distinctive.
The finest liquid I have ever experienced. I am a significant rum and tequila drinker, and my previous favorite was Clase Azul, but this surpasses it completely. If I were able to give it a 5.5 or a 6, I certainly would.
A pleasant, smooth expression with notes of vanilla, caramel, agave, white chocolate, cherry, peach, hints of jalapeño and smoke, accompanied by a nice creaminess and smoothness. I favor Burdeos, though.
This has a really interesting smokiness. The only aspect it lacks is a fuller mouthfeel, but the packaging and overall value are satisfactory.
It's drier than I anticipated, but the flavor isn't weak. Slightly woody. Enjoyable to sample.
