Don Julio Real Extra Añejo Tequila

My opinion is swayed because I believe anything from Don Julio is excellent. There's a significant presence of oak and richness from the barrel. It's smooth and demands careful attention to its subtle characteristics. Each sip reveals something new. It's very good neat, and if you must add anything, I'd suggest a splash of Grand Marnier and/or possibly Disaronno with a squeeze of lime, and nothing else.

Superior to the 1942, yet falls short of the 1942 primavera orange wine cask. A solid choice for bourbon fans venturing into tequila, offering cooked agave, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, caramel, honey, grass, oranges, walnuts, and lavender. The vanilla's dominance on the aroma detracted slightly, and the palate could have benefited from a touch less oak.

An excellent tequila. Smooth and creamy with prominent flavors of nuts and baking spices. The influence of bourbon barrels is noticeable. Some vanilla lingers in the finish. Overall, a superb Añejo, though perhaps not justifying its price. Slightly more complex but not distinctly superior to Don Julio 1942.

A very sweet agave aroma, reminiscent of sugarcane. Cotton candy and vanilla. The flavors mirrored the aroma. Vanilla is prominent, and while the sugarcane is less noticeable, the sweetness persists. The finish brings white pepper and mild warmth.

I find it pleasant, but I would definitely choose 1942 over this. Considering that 1942 is also much cheaper, my decision is clear.

The aroma profile features oak, pineapple, and agave. There's no heat or unpleasant off-notes.
